Hello & Welcome Expecting Parents!
I am so glad that you are here! Congratulations on your new little bundle of joy. I'm so excited for you. Parenthood is the best stage of life to become a part of!
I'm Jules, a professional photographer, turned mom. I had a photography studio in my small hometown for five years, before I met the love of my life and moved to his. Shortly after we got married, I became a mom.
I have to admit, I didn't fully understand how life changing those first little moments with your new baby were until I had my own.
"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new." - Rajneesh
Don't get me wrong, I am in the photography business for a reason, I love taking photographs and capturing the special moments for people but after my first little girl was born, all I wanted to do was sit and hold her little fingers, tickle her toes and stare at her in awe!
People always say, “Enjoy it. They grow too fast.” I get it now more than ever, how important it is to capture moments at home!
When I was pregnant with my first, I worked up at our local hospital, taking photographs of the newborns for parents. It broke my heart that most parents turned down the photographs when they found out the service cost money and said they would just take their own as it didn't fit into their budget.
When I got to thinking about it, I realized that a professional photography experience is one of those added luxuries many people don't ever get to enjoy or to even experience.
A $300 photo session (on the low end, depending on where you live), for maternity, newborn, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months would be total of $1,800 extra dollars in one year for parents. Some professional photographers charge $1800 for just one session!
The saying is that a photograph can be worth a 1,000 words, but if it is never taken......
As most people live paycheck to paycheck and the added expenses of diapers, wipes and formula for some, not to mention the carseat, crib and stroller.... oh my! People were letting this valuable time, these moments slip away...never to be captured.
If I could teach expecting parents, like you, how to take their own photographs at home for a small portion of that $1800, with no lack on quality, no one would have to miss those precious moments.
Teaching just a few key skills you could grasp and work on.... design, the right photography equipment... good lighting and what to look for in your own home... you mama could do this on your own!
When you go into a newborn photography studio, they have so much “stuff.” But at home, we only need a few things to have a wonderful first year of photos to enjoy for generations!
As I walk you through how to make this happen at home, we get to to approach this in a completely different way, one that makes the chances of perfect capture all the more feasible.
You no longer have to hope your photographer's schedule happens to coincide with baby's perfect mood. Now you can gauge your little one's best time of day and work around it.
Best of all, you don't have to worry or stress about anything because you will be on your own time in the comfort of your own home!
I hope you will join us in learning, capturing those special moments, and enjoying that first year with your little one and beyond!
